A Gypsy's Tale - feedback
This is the 3rd of Julie's books that I have read and thoroughly enjoyed. As a grown woman I am not exactly the target audience for "A Gypsy's Tale" but that didn't stop me getting totally caught up in the characters and stories, I didn't want to put it down and I will definitely be reading it out loud at story time to my little one when they make an appearance. I enjoyed reading "A Gypsy's Tale" by Julie Sandilands. The book is very easy to get into, and the characters are well realised. The story unfolds nicely, with the beginning of children's tricks in a sweet shop turning into something much more sinister as the book progresses. I liked the two badgers in it, who have a good way with words, and Ryan and Hawkeye work well together like two new friends would. It is good to see Julie getting a bit more sinister; it's the sort of story I would have relished as a child - a story where things DO go bump in the night, and captures the imagination. The book is very readable and I found I had finished it quite quickly, yearning to know what happened. The book ends at an interesting juncture, paving the way for a third book. I look forward to it!
